Rules
Jiu-Jitsu has valid rules for competitions, which also serve as a parameter to be taught and followed in the gym that the student attends. We are based on the rules of the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation, represented in Brazil by the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Confederation, which is the most credible management institution in Brazilian and world Jiu-Jitsu.
They are formed with the purpose of preserving the student independent of age, with certain technical restrictions, which in the case of children, become allowed as the student grows.
The rules represent not only the technical part of Jiu-Jitsu, but standards of sportsmanship, respect, discipline and even hygiene. All this is increasingly aimed at making Jiu-Jitsu events and academies worthy of being frequented by families and good people.
If you are interested in learning more, the rule book is freely available for download.
