Cristian Polnov - Black Belt 1st Degree

Professor Cristian Polnov began his Jiu-Jitsu journey in 2008 through a social project at Vida Sports Academy. From the very beginning, he faced challenges like maintaining consistent training, but he found a path of transformation on the mats.

With a strategic view of Jiu-Jitsu, he believes the gentle art is a combination of technique and intelligence that allows even the smallest person to defend against the bigger one. Over the course of his career, he has collected achievements such as: CBJJ Brazilian Nationals runner-up, multiple-time Gaúcho State Champion, Gramado Open Champion, Floripa Open runner-up, UAEJJ World Pro Trials Champion, and a third-place finish at the CBJJ Nationals.

But for him, the greatest achievement goes beyond the podiums:
"It was the opportunity to change my life through Jiu-Jitsu."

His teaching method is clear and straightforward, with a strong focus on values such as respect, character, and loyalty. For him, Jiu-Jitsu is also a space for social interaction and personal growth. He sees a promising future for the sport, with increasing recognition and appreciation for both athletes and instructors.

At SHC BJJ Academy, his main goal is to share knowledge and help change lives. He hopes his students will take from the mats to their everyday lives the values of discipline, self-control, confidence, and respect for others.

Inspired by his first coaches, Patrícia Furlanetto and Rodrigo Dias—who made him believe in the power of sport—he shares this advice for beginners:
"Train with patience, respect your own pace, and never compare yourself to anyone else."
