After an average performance in Ras al Khaimah, Samuel gave sequence to the UAEJJF schedule reaching the Emirate of Sharjah. Looking for the No Gi ranking among masters, Samuel became -83kg champion, where in a disputed final, caught the knee of the Emirati Talib al Kerbi.

In the second day of championship, fighting with the Gi in the -77kg division among adults, Samuel made his way to the final after taking Melk Franco’s foot, having Tiago Bravo as the final opponent, where in stalled fight after attacking the foot got swept already in the end of the fight, therefore taking the second place.
