After a six months period recovering from a left knee surgery, Samuel set his return to competitions at London Grand Slam, the last leg from a four event series in the UAEJJF’S 2015/16 calendar. After winning two Brazilians in the preliminary fights, Samuel guaranteed the gold by beating the tough Polish Maciej Polok (Gracie Barra), achieving his first title at Master 1/77kg division.
